Midday Meals Supervisor

About the Role

A midday meals supervisor helps maintain positive behaviour by setting clear expectations, modelling calm routines, and supporting children to resolve minor conflicts. They lead simple, engaging activities that encourage play, cooperation and inclusion for all pupils. They also provide thoughtful support for children with SEND and follow EYFS guidance to promote healthy eating habits, independence and safe mealtime routines.

What skills and experience we're looking for

A primary school midday meals supervisor should have strong communication and relationship‑building skills to support positive behaviour and help children feel safe and included. They need effective teamwork and organisation skills to manage lunchtime routines smoothly and maintain a calm, structured environment. They should also demonstrate patience, vigilance, and the ability to respond confidently to minor first‑aid or behaviour situations.
