Join Us as a Local Governor – Help Shape Bright Futures Across London
At The Charter Schools Educational Trust, our mission is simple and ambitious: Better Futures for Children and Young People. From our beginnings in 2010 with just one school, we’ve grown into a vibrant family of nine schools, supported by over 600 dedicated staff, educating over 5,500 pupils from nursery to sixth form.
Our work is underpinned by excellence in teaching and learning. We’re proud to be home to a Teaching School Hub, Research School, Behaviour Hub and Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, all helping us champion outstanding education across London and the South East.
Why We Need You
Each of our schools sits in a unique community—shaped by its history, culture, and local context. To ensure every voice is heard, each school has a Local Governing Body (LGB) made up of committed volunteers who play a vital role in supporting and challenging our school leaders. We are now looking for new volunteer local governors to join LGBs across the Trust, including at Dulwich Hamlet Junior School, The Belham Primary School, and Lyndhurst Primary School.
What you do need is integrity, commitment, curiosity, a little time and a lot of enthusiasm!
What you don't need is any previous experience in education or specialist qualifications.
If you can bring your skills, insight, and passion for inclusive education to our governance team, you’ll be helping shape the strategic direction of our schools and making a real difference to thousands of young people.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. As a local governor, you’ll join a community of people working together to ensure every child receives the best possible education—regardless of background or circumstance.
If you think you could contribute to this important work, we’d love to hear from you!
